Logo Design Brief
L.I.F.E is an acronym for Learning Is For Everyone.
We are starting a math tutoring company. It is a small family startup at the moment. The colors, designs and entire esthetic balance is a creation I want to appeal to mothers and to children.
The problem is, we are not targeting this at a specific demographic in terms of children's ages. The tutor can teach anything from kindergarten to college. So teddy bears and primary colors won't work. On the other hand, a dry neutral design won't work either.
We are foreseeing, from research and experience that he will be working with perhaps 5th grade through high school. So this is a challenge.
My sister in law, a graphic designer, believes it should be clean, simple and elegant. I do agree with that on some level.
I have, however, always wanted to include a tree of life on the cards/flyers/materials. My mother purchased me a tree of life in Israel made out of some soft metal, and all the hanging (not really hanging) fruits were made of semi precious gems. It was very beautiful. I wondered if we could marry the clean, simple look with one very eye catching tree of life, I remember a gold tint ( but never too much gold!) -and perhaps the gemlike fruits could be numbers instead.
I am not insisting on this. Most mothers surveys liked LIFE right away, above other options. I want to go with their gut.
I don't want to make this a pressurized, rush order, but we do need it as soon as possible.
I know, or I believe you are not involved in the tag line creation. We really want to convey that we are accepting of, and experienced with math phobic, math anxiety riddled students. And want to help. After all Learning Is For Everyone. And that includes kids who have been made to feel dumb or inferior or have come to hate math because of the second class students it makes them.
We strongly believe that most of those children have no problem. They just need a little help because not everyone learns in the exact same way,at the exact same speed.
Ok....that was a lot :) I'm not sure how many people are reading this and exactly how the process works. I mean, I do, but I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Updates
I apologize, I did not realize the process of payment was like this. I had thought my original payment to vista prints was the entire fee for a logo. It was not really explained very well. Now that I understand how it works, I will of course guarantee payment. I don't feel you should put in the amount of work and creativity I hope to generate with no guarantee of any reciprocity for it. So I will change the status and answer the individual questions over the next few days. I am sorry there was such a delay, but I need to make the right choices for this company, and invest wisely. Please bear with me.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: Just to give us all a little more breathing time while I dedicate myself to this, now I have the time.

Everyone who asked earlier, I guaranteed payment as I''m sure you know by now and provided feedback to those who requested it in designer discussion. I'm going to be going over individual ones the next few days and provide feedback where I feel it is necessary. Thank you all.
