Logo Design Brief

Dad’s Old Flannel is a woman-owned upcycling brand that breathes new life into secondhand flannels by turning them into accessories and home goods: such as scrunchies, pajama sets, tote bags, pet bandanas, and more. Our mission is to “Restore with Love,” celebrating community and sustainability with nostalgic designs that feel both timeless and cozy. We're all about ethical and local production, as each piece is handmade.

We need a logo to get us started in our marketing! I've added some assets that I've briefly come up with (it is pretty bad, as I am not a graphic designer), as well as some inspiration points we like. I'm specificially looking for a design that's more professional and elegant than the one I've provided.

I've also included a brand strategy questionnaire that I've filled out. I've used it before for working with designers, so hopefully it adds helpful context and inspiration!

We envision a simple yet evocative logo that holds rustic charm. The idea is to have vintage design that communicates connection, nostalgia, and class.

Our general brand colors are an off-white cream background accented with a warm red (HEX #8E030B), and we like to subtly incorporate flannel texture or light stitching details. Natural imagery, especially stylized tree silhouettes or wood-grain motifs, should feel tasteful and restrained, mainly adding to the inviting tone.

We need vector files with both solid-background and transparent versions, ready for use across print, digital, and merchandise. Open to purchasing inexpensive fonts and drawn assets. Thanks so much!
