Help! The Lolly Jar Café needs new logo

This is what The Lolly Jar Cafe was looking for in their logo design

We have just purchased The Lolly Jar Café and it is in need of a radical overhaul. Originally starting as a confectionery shop, it is now a coffee shop that stocks very little sweets. We are looking for a clean, modern logo that works equally well on a neutral background as it does on a darker background. To that end we are asking designers to submit their designs on both a neutral and darker background. Although acknowledging its history is welcome, by no means should references to lolly jars, confectionery etc. dominate the design.
