This is what Hilt & Arrow was looking for in their logo design
• Floating Image (No background art required)
• Symmetrical Image: Preteen (11-13 years old) Black boy seen straight on, facing the viewer.
• Boy has short dreadlocks (See Examples)
• Boy is sitting crisscrossed, and barefoot
• Boy is reading a book, hiding most of his face. We can only see his eyes, forehead and up.
• Logo is for a Middle School Book Club. So it shouldn't be childish, but not adult-professional either.
• Simple is better. No need to over-detail. Image needs to be easy to discern, view, understand at a half-inch size on a book spine.
• Color-Scheme: Brown, Gray, Gold, Cream, Black
• Because it needs to be on a book spine, composition should not be horizontal. Image can be more vertical, or of equal length and width.
