I need a logo for a structural engineering franchise operation..

This is what Crossroads Engineers was looking for in their logo design

The logo I have is great in Utah, but I now intend to go nationwide with a franchise operation. I love the mountain and lake thing in the existing logo, but that doesn't make much sense in Florida or Kansas.
Crossroads Engineers franchisees will do structural inspections for homeowners. This involves letting a homeowner know if a damaged wall is a structural problem, or perhaps if a wall is structural or not.
If possible, I'd like to indicate with the logo that it's a licensed structural engineer that's doing the inspection. This is because we want to work with (not against) home inspectors who will likely be funneling work toward us. For that reason, I don't want to use the cliche house/magnifying glass icon that so many home inspectors use.
My preferred colors are black, blue, purple, gray, etc.
