We live in Tavernier Florida in the Florida Keys. Our home is a major highway for natural Hermit Crabs. Living in the Florida Keys, we are a marine sanctuary and work hard to protect all marine wildlife, on land, air and ocean. Many people forget about native hermit crabs that are born in the ocean and live on land. When they come on vacation, they like to take back shells as a souvenir however shells are how hermit crabs grow and live to be 30+yrs old. I’ve been sharing our wild natural hermit crab stories since we moved here 3yrs. I’ve spoken at CrabCon 2021 & 2022 to share our story with hermit crab owners and countries world wide who are dedicated to show that they are not throw away pets.
