Predicting Patterns of War: does history repeat itself?

This is what PaCE was looking for in their logo design

We need a logo design for a research project called "PaCE" (Patterns of Conflict Escalation) based in Dublin. We analyse the temporal sequences preceding wars to find similarities, patterns, and try to predict the evolution of the conflict. We apply various machine learning techniques to classify sequences. I attach a sample idea of what we could convey (two sequences, one a warped version of the other), but other ideas are also very welcome. Some key concepts to convey (but not necessarily all) are : conflict/peace, machine learning (or sequence matching), forecasting. Read more
