Logo Design Brief
La Vie Zen Spa, a high-end day spa in the heart of Manhattan, is launching a contest to design the perfect logo for print and online media.
This will be a dynamic process: we will give you the brand profile, reference images and criteria you need to create a winning design efficiently. You provide us with a simple, memorable and elegant logo.
The winning selection will ultimately be based on how well it fits with the new website layout and aesthetics, and how well the logo represents our high-end spa.
With a harmonious blend of French and Asian influences, La Vie Zen offers an experience that is at the same time luxurious and peaceful, elegant and meditative. Thus, while it is important that the logo is Asian and Zen inspired, it is even more important that the logo exudes elegance and beauty for the NYC market. The logo should strive to represent Zen philosophy with a fusion of French sophistication: rustic and ritzy. The challenge is to convey an Asian/Zen presence in an upscale fashion, without it being kitschy, tacky or cheap.

As a general note, the review team is still interested in a logo that includes "La Vie Zen Spa," and are also looking for a small graphic to accompany the lettering. Whether this is a shape that incorporates the lettering or a totally separate image doesn't matter. These are the designs that are interesting them the most.
