Business Card Design Brief
Best way to describe what we need is to quote from the draft press release (below). The logo is for a global marketing campaign. We want to build a budget to fund specific projects where we can make a difference.
- PRESS RELEASE DRAFT SO FAR
"Small Change for Small Business" is a marketing campaign designed to help preserve local food cultures and local food businesses around the world.
“Global fast ‘food’ and other chains are accelerating their plans for world domination. It is time for us to come together and do something about it,” said the Association’s President Erik Wolf. “The global financial crisis has only given pause to the egregious takeover of coffee, hamburger, donut and other outlets everywhere. We currently have a watch list of 671 chains around the world. Consumers need to wake up and smell the coffee.”
The program is straightforward. Every year, the Association will choose at least one project voted on by the community as worthy of attention for the next calendar year.” An example of a project “of interest” currently to the Association is the City of Chicago’s draconian anti-food cart law. Other examples of how the Association may help is to provide small businesses with education on marketing and strategy to better enable small business owners to compete effectively and win against the chains. If successful, the Association plans to evolve its program into a consumer media awareness campaign.

Requirements
Must have
- Must use the blue and green colors in our company logo (see attachment - I don't have RGB values handy). I would like 2 versions of the logo: one that includes "Small Change for Small Business", or possibly "Small Change 4 Small Business" plus the logo artwork and a version of the logo artwork by itself. There must also be a servicemark (sm) in a subtle location on the logo itself AS WELL AS after the "small change for small business" phrase.
Should not have
- Should not use currency symbols. Try to avoid cliche culinary icons like a chef hat or fork/knife/chopsticks. This should be more like a corporate logo than a "cutesy" foodie logo. I also don't think food imagery is going to work well in the logo - I would avoid pictures of food.
