This year St. John of San Francisco Orthodox Academy celebrates its 20th year of providing a quality classical education in a loving and values-based pan-Orthodox environment. The Academy is small, with an intimate family-like atmosphere, but at the same time provides an education for grades Kindergarten-12th which helps us to stand out as an excellent school in nationally normed tests and within the competitive SF school environment.

We would like designs which utilize our school logo, and which find a balance between the beauty of Russian Orthodox art and iconography and the more modern approaches to advertising education which dominate today. The final design should communicate quality, beauty, and trustworthiness.

St. John of SF Orthodox Academy is both a classical academy and a pan-Orthodox institution. Both of these elements are integral to our identity, but one does not automatically infer the other, so both must be mentioned.

Nice to have

• blending of the beauty of russian orthodox art and iconography with more modern simplicity

Should not have

• very few primary colors- we are not a pre-school, no building blocks/alphabet letters.
