Logo Design Brief

We’re looking for a set of logos for the Blue Ocean Company. As our company performs a number of different activities, we need to have one logo which will represent the whole company, and 2 other logos which will have the same format but will be slightly different from the “root logo”. The logos that we have now look a bit old-fashioned. We look for something very modern and eye-catching, something similar to what LinkedIn/Facebook/Egomnia have (https://plus.google.com/106803905501341848445/videos).
To sum up:
1) Logo #1 “Blue Ocean Company”
Requirements: The first logo that we need is for the Blue Ocean Company. We are a global Executive Search & Assessment company. We specialize in Executive Search for Senior, Middle Management and key specialist positions within Energy, Engineering, Shipping, Medical and Finance.

2) Logo#2 “Blue Ocean News”
Requirements: The second logo is for Blue Ocean Company News Portal. Blue Ocean News is a web-site for oil & gas and shipping-related news

3) Logo#3 “Blue Ocean Jobs”
Requirements: The third logo is for the Blue Ocean Company Jobs Portal. Blue Ocean Jobs is a web-site where jobseekers and employers are searching for each other.

General requirements:
-We won't set the colour pallet requirement. However, the designers have to take into account what we have today (the logos I've pasted here) and where we come from (the specificity of the company's activity (maritime background, blueocean etc)). It has to be powerful.
-The acceptable sizes for the logo - for example, the logo would be printed on a huge poster or would be used on a website only.
It will be used on our web-sites, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ accounts, printed promotional material (for ex, flyers), presentations etc.
