Brochure Design Brief
We need to re-work our "Parents Guide to Gangs" brochures (English & Spanish) to give it greater visual appeal with updated photos and graphics; the content (text) is currently being edited, but is not expected to be drastically different. It's important that we uses images and graphics that strike a delicate balance between conveying the image of gangs or gang members without glorifying gangs or portraying the City or even a particular race in bad light. Abstract, silhouette, faceless, and ambiguous images are preferred. Other images portraying kids or families should be diverse (white, African-American, Latino, Asian, etc.) and inclusive of both males and females. The design should communicate that help and resources are available. Please see attachments for current brochure designs in Spanish and English.

Requirements
Must have
- City of Oxnard logo. We''re flexible on the size... could be 8.5" x 14" folded to a 4-panel, 2-sided brochure, or could simply be 8.5'' x 11" folded in half. The current brochure design can give you an idea of the space required for the content.
Nice to have
- Some images that might covey the idea of police interaction such as a silhouette or no-face image from behind gang members or police officers and police cars in dark alley. Also, positive images of Oxnard scenes or families and non-gang kids (boys & girls) of various ethnicities (white, African-American, Latino, Asian) .
Should not have
- Images that may be perceived negatively such as bloody crime scenes, officers using guns, batons, or handcuffs, or images that glorify the gang lifestyle
