Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for a brand new Farm Holidays/Country House to be opened in the Marche. The Marche are a beautiful region of central Italy, similar to Tuscany, but yet to be developed from the point of view of tourism.

“Borgo” means group of old houses, in fact, the structure will be composed of three separate buildings, two of which have original stone on sight.
“della Spiga” has a double meaning:
• on the one hand (literal translation: of the ear) refers to the ears of wheat fields around the property that are cultivated alternately each year to sunflowers,
• on the other hand is a reference to the famous Via della Spiga, which is one of the Italian city of Milan's most prestigious and upscale shopping streets, forming the north-east boundary of the luxurious Quadrilatero della Moda (literally, "fashion quadrilateral"), along with Via Monte Napoleone. My husband and I are in fact from Milan and would like to give a trendy and elegant atmosphere to the structure with particular attention to the design.

Will be made 5 double bedrooms each with private bath, 2 studios with kitchenette, 1 restaurant and a relaxation area with an outdoor pool.
The aim is to offer a different service from the existing structures in the area (basically rustic-style oriented to families with children) trying to combine the old and the new
• the old of the ancient architectural structures, rhythms of country life, smells and sounds of nature that in the city are covered by urbanization and traffic, the friendliness and hospitality of the small/family-run accommodation
• the new of an international, open, stimulating approach both in services and hospitality as well as the elegance and the refinement of the furnishings and details

The logo must look modern and trendy since the definition of Country House already tells the old/rural side.

Target Market(s)

Mostly couples without/with older children, upper-middle class, 35-55 years, both Italian and foreign (want to escape the city and find a place where you can relax with comfort of your own home and cuddle of a hotel). Only secondly families with small children.

• - explicit references to Italianness (eg: colors of the flag, the shape of the boot)
  - the use of ordinary image of the ear and sunflower (OK if used with creativity and originality)
  - garish colors, violent and non-relaxing
