Logo Design Brief

I need to create a logo that updates and improves upon an existing identity. The main goal is to have a simple icon that locks up with the entity's name. There is a sample uploaded of the existing identity, the geometry is fine, but clearly the rest of it is dated and no good.

This is a non-profit organization that provides a place for Police Officers and Military veterans to find peace and solitude in the wake of trauma and/or stress related to active duty. It is located near picturesque Joshua Tree, CA.

Key words to consider: Solitude, Solace, Peace, Honor, Bravery, Hero

Target Market(s)

Their are two target markes -- B2B and B2C.

B2C -- these are the people who would come to the Desert Refuge for Peace Officers -- they have sacrificed themselves in active duty and put themselves in harm's way for the sake of others, which requires understanding and reverence.

The second market, B2B, are potential underwriters who believe in the cause. This is where simplicity and a professional identity will be important.
