Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for a company called Aslan and we'd like to incorporate a lion in the logo (Aslan is the lion from the Chronicles of Narnia). An idea we really like is that of using ONE of the letters of Aslan to somehow create the shape of a lion (having seen attempts to use all of the letters we've realised that that's not such a good idea!). Attached are a few examples just to give an idea of what we mean - the best result seems to be using a clear uppercase font for the word Aslan, while either getting some connection to a lion either close to the text or by transforming one of the letters. We are a software company which is not overly important in terms of the design ... a nice but not essential idea might be that of incorporating a mouse (as in pc mouse) as the ball of hair that’s at the end of the lion’s tail (if the logo design somehow includes a tail). It is desirable to have the word "Software" in much smaller text below the word Aslan (probably bottom right under the LAN). In terms of colour we’d like tones of red.
