Illustration Design Brief

I run www.headforpoints.com, the UK's leading frequent flyer blog with 125,000 page views per month. I am in the process of moving it to the Genesis 'Lifestyle' theme and I need a header designing.

The size will be 920 x 150. Here are my criteria:

1. The image should be primarily (but necessarily entirely) white and blue to fit the Lifestyle blog theme (http://my.studiopress.com/themes/lifestyle/).

2. It needs to include the current straplines, 'Head for Points' and 'The UK's leading blog for Avios, British Airways Executive Club and more!'

3. The text needs to stand out so should be black or similar against a white or similar background

4. Possible designs could include white jet streams against a blue sky, or perhaps some blue sky, white cloud and some buildings (UK / Euro / global landmarks?) sketched at the bottom.

See http://boardingarea.com/blogs/frequentmiler/ as an example of something I find effective. There are plenty of other examples of frequent flyer blog headers at www.boardingarea.com.

5. If you have a better idea than the ideas above then I am very happy to receive them! www.travel-summary.com is another interesting example of what can be done with the Lifestyle theme, although this design is too large for me.

The overall look should be classy and professional, as befits a blog where the average reader is a well educated 25-45 year old male.

Target Market(s)

The blog is read mainly by well educated males, 25-45 years old

Requirements
Must have
  • Must include the headline 'Head for Points' and sub-heading 'The UK's leading blog for Avios, British Airways Executive Club and more!'

The design should have some reference to travel or flight, however this can be very vague

The predominant colours should, I think, be blue (any shades) and white with a lot of white. The text should sit on a white or light background.

'Classy' and 'professional' should be words that would apply to your design
