What kind of style do the elements shall have? Post-apocalyptic? World War 2? About the city, does it have to me a small orthogonal block like the reference? And one more thing: How do you want the animations? Do you want spritesheets? Or do you prefer SWF files?

Hi Leo,

These are the answers to your questions:

1. The style.
I would say more post-apocalyptic style than World War 2. The action takes place on a planet somewhere in the universe. A "Star Trek style" is what I'm looking for.

2. The city.
The orthogonal block is only an example I found on the Internet. It could look completely different. Again, because it is located on a distant planet - the city could be futuristic. A 2D image is fine. An important point is that I need two images of the city: the actual city and another one of the destroyed city. I would imagine that the destroyed city would have ruins of the buildings covered in soot.

3. The animations.
I'd like to have the sprite sheets. I refer to sprite sheets as "sprite batches" in my description. No limitation on the number of frames.

One more thing - dimensions of the images:
I have limited space on the screen (the playfield is 800x600 pixels).
These are the dimensions of the graphical elements (width x height):

- Airplane: 64x32 (or 32x32)
- Saucer: 64x32
- Sputnik: 32x32
- City and destroyed city: 64x64
- Rocket: 16x16

The dimensions are video card friendly (i.e. multiples of 2). It will also allow me to scale them in half if necessary. It means that some details that are 1-pixel in size may be missing when the images are downscaled.

Thanks,
Leszek

Understood. I will do work on these real soon.

Great! I'm looking forward to seeing your creation.

Just to be sure, the dimensions of each element are per-frame, right? If I make the plane 64x32, and create 3 frames for it (it has a flame on the back) the dimensions of the sprite batch has to be 192x32, right? So I deliver the batches with transparent background or with a pink one?

Thanks.

Yes, the dimensions of each element are per-frame. Any background color will do. I convert it to transparent programmatically.
