Logo Design Brief

We are a new commercial construction firm in Dallas-Fort Worth. Logo needs to be a single primary color. Our initial thoughts were to incorporate a chess board and/or piece (open to other ideas). Design should be clean and contemporary and uncomplicated. Graphics need to be able to be used separately from text.
