Logo Design Brief

1) Background of iSHaRe
The Integrated Systems in Healthcare for Research (iSHaRe) is both an application system and a database. It is a single web-based platform for researchers investigators, administrators and managers of healthcare institutions to track, monitor and manage their research portfolios more efficiently.

The iSHaRe systems has 5 functionalities :
• Electronic review for Ethical issues in human related research
• Electronic review for Ethical issues in animal research
• Research Grant management systems
• Research funding disbursement systems
• Tracking, monitoring and analysis of Research Performance
The iSHaRe system is to be used by a Group of healthcare organizations which come under the umbrella of SingHealth Pte Ltd (http://www.singhealth.com.sg) – the largest public healthcare institution in Singapore. The Group currently comprises :
- 1 tertiary hospital - Singapore General Hospital
- 1 specialty hospital – KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital
- 1 National Cancer Centre of Singapore
- 1 National Heart Centre of Singapore
- 1 National Neuroscience Institute
- 1 Singapore National Eye Centre
- 1 National Dental Centre Singapore
- A group of 9 primary care networks (called SingHealth Polyclinics)
- 1 SingHealth Research Office (coordinating Office for Research at the Group level)
Each of the hospital / centre / office is the stakeholder in the development and use of iSHaRe.

2) What we need

We need a logo for iSHaRe. The following are the considerations to take note:

(a) The iSHaRe Logo needs to demonstrate integration of multiple parts and collaboration of multiple stakeholders.

(b) The plan is for the iSHaRe logo to be used in an Integrated fashion (as per sample in FILE 4) (“Integrated”), where the name of the lab is placed next to the SingHealth Research logo) or to be used independently without the SingHealth Research logo in future (“Standalone”) when it is adopted by other healthcare groups in Singapore and in the region To illustrate our point, We have provided two versions of the logo for Designer’s consideration - Standalone iSHaRe logo (see FILE 1 as example) and Integrated SingHealth Research logo with iSHaRe logo (see FILE 2 as example)

(c) The preliminary concept (see FILE 1) of the iSHaRe logo is attached. The words in the logo are linked together based on the concept that the system is “integrated”. A half DNA helix was used to represent the "i" to relate part of the logo to the idea/image of research. This is just a conceptual idea, and the designer need not strictly follow this draft design.


(d) Logo (whether it is used alone or integrated with SingHealth Research) will be shrunk to the following dimensions of 226 pixels (length) by 53 pixels (height) to fit into webpage space. Designer must therefore make sure the text and design must remain visible and distinctive when it is resized to the above dimensions.

(e) Logo will also be used on websites, paper collaterals and banners

(f) Additional Information for the Designer - We have recently developed a “SingHealth Research” logo and a suite of logos to represent various research laboratories that we have under the Headquarter (SingHealth). The files are available for reference (see FILE 3 and 4).

3) Corporate Colour Schemes

The orange colour code
Pantone 166
CMYK= 80M, 100Y
RGB= 255R, 51G, 0B

The purple colour code
Pantone 2607C
CMYK= 83, 99,0,2
RGB=80R, 7G, 120B

Designer can recommend one more colour that complements the existing corporate colour for the logo. Black and White are not counted.

4) Corporate Font
The Corporate Fonts are Myriad Pro and Arial. Designer can propose suitable font that compliments the Logo.

5) Deliverable
Designer will need to deliver 1 independent logo that could integrate with the existing SingHealth Research logo (as shown in File 3) or on its own (i.e. without SingHealth Research logo)

The iSHaRe Logo should come in the following form and format:
(a) .png and .jpg format (both in white background)
(b) in full colour (please also provide the colour codes in Pantone and RGB)
(c) in black and white colour
(d) in vector format (i.e. transparent background in .png)

We will also need the Designer to provide the following in addition to the logo:
(a) Colours used – To provide colour codes in Pantone, CMYK and RGB
(b) Fonts use – To provide names of fonts. If Fonts used are proprietory, to provide the file of the Fonts used.

6) Delivery Timeline
Delivery of items listed in item 5 above must be completed by 1 September 2014.
