what about colours? Do you have any preferred? Limit of numbers of colours on the mascot?

Thanks for getting back to us with issues/questions, and sorry for the delay. Discussion points will be answered summerically, and we shall provide some direct feedback for those who have already submitted designs within the next 24hours as well.


a) Re: Size (Aankur) - We are really looking for the main concept/design/idea for the mascot, but since it/he/she is to be used on the website to communicate with our users the size could accommodate this. Of course, we may also want to use the mascot for print material, so vector graphics is very much appreciated.

b) Re: Colours etc (Anna @ imagefirst) - So long as it takes into account the ideas/concepts described in the brief brief ;-) you should make the call. It is probably better to not make it too complex, and stick to max 4 different and distinct colours or something (but variations and gradients should be ok to try)

Also, on another note - we are actually not looking for a new logo. We are just mentioning it since some of you have submitted logo designs. We would love to see some more mascots, so keep them coming. Thanks for the work you have done so far - this looks promising!

Greetings!

Thanks for all the submitted mascot designs so far. We are having fun and really appreciate it, so keep them coming! We have just been reviewing a wide selection of designs and felt we should provide you with some more and general feedback.

First of all, send us more mascot designs and make sure you visit our service to understand better the context in which the final mascot is to be used (and do read the project description thoroughly).

We are looking for a strong personality in a mascot, so please make it personable. It should also be someone friendly and helpful that our typical users can identify with and someone we can use to communicate successfully with the visitors to and users of our service. The final mascot is someone with a definite personality.

We are looking for something bold, exclusive, personable and cool probably. A touch of humor is quite ok too. Also, if you could consider the color scheme we already have, that would be great as it would make the colors on our website blend in more. Shadows, glossy effects, gradients and texture is ok too, if that fits in your design.

PS - Your submissions will be presented and voted on at the upcoming Broadcast Video Expo in London, and we are considering getting the help of our user community to vote on a shortlist, before we make our final decision, so please make it stick.

We have decided to extend the deadline by 12 days. The deadline will not be extended beyond this point. The reason why we are extending the deadline is that we are going to try some of the different designs with visitors to our stand at the Broadcast Video Expo in London next week, before we make a final decision. We may also decide to test this with our users and friends on Facebook, but this will not delay the decision.

We will also eliminate the design at this point that we do not feel represent what we are looking for.

We are also accepting more designs in the meantime, so if your design has been eliminated and you believe you could make a better one according to our design brief, then you may give it another go.

Finally, we have also decided to increase the budget somewhat and provide a runner-up compensation for 2nd and 3rd places. We truly appreciate your efforts and wish you the best of luck!
