Logo Design Brief
What does it look like when stiff Swedish minimalism meets joyful Indian creativity?
The Sweden India Society (Svensk-Indiska Föreningen) is a member organization in Sweden that brings together people with an interest of Indian culture in the words widest sense: religion, art, politics, food etc. The society is politically and religiously neutral.
The Sweden India Society organizes events about India and Indian culture on a regular basis, leaning more towards serious discussions than pure entertainment, even though the latter is not excluded.
We need a new logotype for the Society, since the old one feels slightly out-dated and only exists as a low-res jpg.
The logotype should be based on the meeting between Swedish and Indian culture, though it should avoid obvious clichés. The main focus shall be on India.
We are looking for something clean, elegant and timeless, that still manage to communicate the joy, colours and heat of India. Feel free to experiment with transparency, gradients, vectors, negative spaces etc.
The logo should include the text Svensk-Indiska Föreningen (beware of the Swedish dots!), and can either consist of text included in a graphical element or a graphic element next to the text.
We are not interested in logotypes that merely shows the initials SIF, so please don’t waste your time on that.
Our present logo is based on the traditional Indian greeting, Namaste. The future logo can be a modernized version of the same idea.
The logo is aimed to be used online (homepage, Facebook etc.), on business cards, folders, roll-ups and in letterheads.
