Logo Design Brief

We require a logo design for a national, US-based IT (Information Technology) company called Cosmos Computing. We offer a wide "universe" of services including software/website development, purchase consulting, system/software/hardware sales, project management, etc.. We want to communicate that our company is highly professional, knowledgeable, and honest. "Sophisticated" and "Hi-tech" may be good ways to convey the emotion behind the logo we are seeking.

Requirements
Must have
  • It must be possible to isolate a portion of the logo for use as a recognizable icon (favicon, etc.). It must be possible to replace the text "Computing" with other phrases (we have other divisions of our company including Cosmos Hosting, Cosmos Strategies, Cosmos IT, etc.). Also, the Cosmos (e.g. universe, galaxy, space) theme must be clearly evident in the logo.
Nice to have
  • If possible, it would be nice to allow the logo to work equally well on black as well as white backgrounds.
Should not have
  • The design should not use illustrations or suggestions of specific pieces of technology (monitors, mice, keyboards, etc.). It should not appear juvenile or employ graphics of spaceships, aliens, or any fanciful objects/creatures.
