Logo Design Brief
We are Andrew and Catherine and we run a small photography business in the UK. We specialise in weddings, family photography and portraits, so we are very much people focused, helping to preserve special memories and emotions. We work very much as a team and this is one of our selling points so should be reflected in the logo in some way.
We want a logo that can be used on Business cards, Website, Blog posts etc. We also want to use it to water mark images online. We also need to be able to use the image in both positive and negative colours as we will have any variety of colour backgrounds that it will be applied as a watermark against.
The Logo should contain our names (Andrew and Catherine Photographers) and be the foundation of our brand and should include a symbol that can be used as a stand-alone logo.
Although we specialise in weddings and want to emphasise the fact that we are a couple, we do not like the use of hearts and prefer not to have the colour pink. We also like to avoid anything over sentimental or romantic like love birds etc.
We are not targeting the price sensitive end of the market, rather those looking for a photographer matching the style they are looking for and are prepared to invest in unique images. At all times we want to be identified as a quality enterprise and the selection of graphic and font should bear this in mind.
In summary:
We want the logo to ideally have the following attributes:
- Reflect the fact that we are a couple
- emphasise Quality, Reliability, Modern,
- Have a graphic element that can be used without the words (not just two letters A & C)
A good example of the look and feel (without replicating of course) is http://robandsarahgillespie.co.uk/2013/06/alison-chris-nuthurst/ You can see the use of elements of the logo in the footer, watermarks and main website branding.
Updates
Thank you to everyone that has so far submitted designs, there are some interesting and thoughtful submissions. However during our review of all the designs submitted so far we've come to the conclusion that the designs we favour are ones that include a logo that is linked either to our initials or to photography, rather than the more abstract or romantic designs. But we're also looking to see the logo and the text relate to each other in some way and not just a clip art picture of a camera placed above a scipt font...
We haven't quite got something that's perfect yet, but some are close and I'll feedback individually.

Our preference for the Logo is to include design elements that link to photography or our names/initials
Should not have
- Although we specialise in weddings and want to emphasise the fact that we are a couple, we do not like the use of hearts and prefer not to have the colour pink. We also like to avoid anything over sentimental like love birds etc.
