Signage Design Brief
Hello All,
We are a bike tour and rental shop in San Francisco. We offer authentic bike experiences, helping people find the real SF, as opposed to the more common tourist track.
We need a bicycle image + text for a large sign that will be painted on the side of our building. The bike image should be simple, clean and very pleasant-looking - it should be a city bike, NOT an aggressive race bike. It should be more "symbolic" and less like an actual bike with all its tiny parts (this is what I mean by "simple"). On the side of the bike, we want two columns of vertical text: "Tours" and "Rentals"
Here are more specs:
- Text and image should be white. They will be painted over a dark grey background. Final image should be white on clear background, but during the design process we'll need to see the image on a dark grey background to be able to give feedback.
- Total width is approx 8 ft
- Total height is approx 3 ft
We are a little flexible with width and height, so if you need to tweak the dimensions a little bit to improve the overall image, please do so. Just make sure to mention this when you submit an image.
For your reference, attached is a very simple prototype mock-up on our actual building. Again, we want the bike to be clean, simple, and fun. It should NOT look like an aggressive road bike.
Final image needs to be actual size (i.e. 3 ft x 8 ft). We need a vectorized .ai file as well as a full-quality PDF.

Thank you for all the submissions. We have narrowed our decision down to 1-2 designs, both by the same designer. If we did not contact you about moving forward with you specifically, please do not submit any more designs. We are only working with this single designer from this point.

This sign will be seen by people walking by - mostly SF locals and some tourists cruising through our neighborhood. So we want people to walk by, be attracted to the sign, and come see what we're all about.
