Hi I have had a few deaigners say they don't compete I'm open design competitions... This is my first time, what are my other options? Anyone?

Those who don't compete just want you to hire them directly.

Usually open briefs gets you more options however it isn't fair on designers working hard and having very little assurance that their design will get paid. Some designers don't mind others do. It all comes down to preference.
