Logo Design Brief

This logo design is for a non-profit cafe/coffee shop in Leesburg, VA. The name is Trinity House Cafe, and the tagline is "a little taste of heaven." The cafe will host various Catholic parish groups and community events. Local artists will have studios upstairs from the cafe and showcase their work process to the public.

I have an initial concept, but I'm not a designer and have just put together something with Power Point symbols and comps from i-stock. I am open to something extremely similar to what I have done, or a new concept if you feel inspired to do something a little different.

Please note, I would be perfectly happy with a design similar to the one I have attached. It's just that I can't use istockphoto for logo design, so I need someone to create something original for me.

PLEASE READ ALL REQUIREMENTS!

I would like you to incorporate the symbols or hints of sun rays/sun, clouds, and 4-point stars. (Not 5 point stars.)

I would love it if someone could successfully incorporate the symbol of a house, either as a replacement for the "H" in house or somewhere on the logo. The house could be an extremely simple, rustic representation, a simple calligraphic symbol, or a fancier renaissance looking house like the illustration I included on the Power point slide I am attaching.

I'd like the color of blue and gold. the gold I have in my example is basically the color I want. The blue should be darker, a kind of mid blue with green in it--teal blue.

I think what I've put together is too feminine, so if you can think of a way to make it less feminine, that would be great. I'm open to some of the elements being a darker blue or brown if that would help.

I like the font combo I've chosen, but am open to others, especially if you think the fonts don't actually combine well. I NEED FONTS THAT ARE MORE ON THE SERIOUS/FORMAL side, nothing too cute or fun. I have used Jane Austen for the tagline script font, and ACADEMY Engraved LET for "Trinity House Cafe."

note. The logo should be artistic, textured, with the feeling of a "real" hand painted logo.

  more formal fonts, NOT cute, or immediately recognizable as retro or industrial--they should probably lean toward church-y or ecclesiastical (see details above.)
  
  One serif and one script font (preferably the ones I have, if you think they actually coordinate.)
  
  

Nice to have

• a house thrown in there somewhere (see detailed description in brief.)

Should not have

• cute suns or stars, 5 point stars, coffee cups or beans, hip or overused fonts, contemporary fonts that are used on a lot of coffee or cafe logos/signs
