Logo Design Brief
After about 10 years of working in the digital marketing/consulting space, I am thinking about branching out on my own. I've got a stable of great work with amazing, global brands and I've developed a reputation for being one of the best digital strategists in the southeast.
What I need is a logo to consolidate the different one-off projects I've worked on outside of my "day job" in a bid to potentially establish my own agency.
I've already established the brand name "Degnan Media" and set up a website http://degnanmedia.com/ as well as my own personal website http://jareddegnan.com/ where you can see a little more about my background, the brands I've worked with, etc..
I also have a trademark pending on the phrase "Feed Your Brand, Not Your Ego." It's been a mantra of mine for a while on focusing on actual business outcomes vs. creative/agency politics.
The logo I currently have was supposed to be a take on a phoenix (I am based in Atlanta) but its a stock logo and I need something a little more aggressive/powerful/unique.
PLEASE TRY TO AVOID USING THE PHOENIX.
ALSO PLEASE AVOID A BASIC LETTERMARK LOGO.
I'd like to keep the logo simple, powerful and iconic. If you've ever heard of "smashable branding" (http://www.fastcompany.com/1745884/how-build-unforgettable-smashable-brand-identity-hint-its-not-logo) that's what I am going for - a logo that can be the "herald" of a mentality rather than just a brand to put on an envelope.
As for colors, fonts, etc. you can see from my websites that I tend to like the classic, timeliness colors and fonts that seem to be in vogue right now BUT I am really looking for someone to make suggestions, help break things out of a rut and make a logo that I can really fall in love with for quite some time.
Good luck and I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Updates
I've made some changes to the brief based on the submissions. In particular, I think I'm going to put a specific line out there about avoiding the use of the phoenix. Not only have I seen a lot of stock icons out there, it just seems overplayed. I am really, really looking for durability and something unique and iconic.
