Web Design Brief
We want a page to educate the facility managers of Office buildings on the wasted lighting that is left on at night time in their buildings. The page should encourage them to reach out to us for ways to reduce/eliminate the wasted lighting.
Part of the motivation is created by showing photographs of city skylines, and highlight specific buildings, and floors in buildings that have lights left on when the light is not needed. We have attached photos of the San Francisco and LA skylines. We have also created a page with youtube videos educating on light pollution. http://www.proautomated.com/education-center-2/proautomated-video-library/
Details:
- We would like a graphic on the page that is the symbol to represent the Dark Skyline we are working to create.
- The page should be able to segment different cities
- The page should be stand alone with enough information to be valuable, but also should link into more details
- The page should tie into our existing site www.proautomated.com
- The page should motivate people to eliminate their wasted light by contacting us
Updates
Hi all,
We have received a number of designs, and some are close to our expectation. We will choose a 1st and 2nd place tomorrow night.
Here is more clarification based on the designs being submitted:
(Please edit your submission if it does not match with the notes below)
1. This design is Not for a homepage or to represent ProAutomated corporately. This design is only to do an interior page that will be the Dark Skyline initiative.
2. The "Symbol to represent the Dark Skyline" is a graphic, logo or image that can universally be recognized as representing our Dark Skyline initiative. This would be used on the webpage and literature we may develop in the future.
3. We expect people visiting this Dark Skyline page to ask a couple questions.
* "What is the Dark Skyline?"
* Is my building causing the wasted lighting (Can I look at a photo of my city {San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City} and see my building lit up at night?
* Is ProAutomated creating a dark skyline? (See images from every 6 months of the same city skyline to see how it is changing)
4. The webpage should not focus on the specific capabilities, skills, tools or software of ProAutomated. It should only focus on the Who, What, Where, Why, How of creating a Dark Skyline.

Here are notes to help with the design:
- Use our uploaded skyline images.
- Highlight a level of light left on in those images. and note, "Is your lighting wasted for hours every night?"
- Highlight a dark area of a building in those images and note "We helped create a Dark Skyline here!"
- Add an email address to contact us at the bottom and say, "I want to be part of the Dark Skyline in my city!""
