Book Cover Design Brief
We need a book cover for a novel called "Fifteen Postcards".
In essence it is a novel about a girl, Sarah Lester, who owns an Antique Shop, The Old Curiosity Shop, in modern day London. She buys the contents of the deceased estate of Elizabeth Williams. Amongst that estate is a box of old English postcards, each postcard providing a snippet of life in London during WWII, all signed by the mysterious "B", and all addressed to "Phil". Whilst Sarah is cleaning and pricing some of the belongings from that estate she is unexpectedly transported back in time. She ends up in New Zealand in 1860 at the time of the gold rush; in India in 1856, just as the Indian Revolt occurs; in London in 1896 staying at the Savoy hotel, and again in London during the Blitz.
This is the Antique's Roadshow woven into the pages of a book as you follow the journey of silver, rubies and diamonds, greenstone and tiger knives (Katar). A novel where tiger hunts and ruby necklaces are entwined with murders and maids.
Each story forms part of the story of Elizabeth Williams and the history of her family.
The different stories are magically woven together into a climatic ending, involving auction houses, deadly collectors, and love.
Below is the blurb for the back cover:
"Following the unexplained disappearance of her parents, and in a last ditch attempt to save the antique store she has inherited from financial ruin, Sarah Lester takes on a deceased estate. Amongst the estate is a collection of fifteen vintage postcards.
Sarah is unprepared for the enigma these postcards hint at about their reclusive former owner. They consume her and complicate her life in unimaginable ways.
A novel traversing three continents, and two centuries, where tiger hunts and ruby necklaces are irrevocably entwined with murders and mysteries, auction houses and antiquities.
It might also explain what happened to her parents ..."

The authors name is Kirsten McKenzie. Below is the blurb about the author to be included on the back cover:
"Kirsten McKenzie has worked in her family's antique store since she was a toddler.
She’s gone from being allowed to sell 50c postcards in the corner of Antique Alley, a literal treasure trove, to selling $5,000 Worcester vases at prestigious antique fairs around New Zealand.
She lives in Auckland with her husband and two daughters."
