Good Decision!

I have asked him some questions which are never replied.I also gave him some suggestions (on 3 October 2012) to improve this process...let me share those with you guys:

"Things are still confusing when we read the design brief and your comments.

A humble request:
Some suggestions to amend the design brief... it will be time saving for both parties (you and designers).

Divide the job into three phases.

First Phase:
1st prize is awarded...winning designer is coordinating with you for further instructions.This phase is completed

Second phase:
Now contest is for Second and third prize only so remove the instructions for 1st prize and modify it for second prize only...Designers will submit designs following the brief (for second prize)... In couple of days you will be able to pick second winner.

Third phase:
Remove the instructions for Second prize and modify it for third prize and said it clearly on the top of the brief "1st and 2nd prize are awarded this brief is for 3rd prize only".Designers will submit designs following the brief (for third prize)...you can pick the third winner and job will be completed."

Community Designers! plz be aware to the "extensions" in the contests, this is a drawback @ Designcrowd....they gave lifetime extension to the contest IF requested i.e. check this "Guaranteed contest" I have participated last year:

this contest is still active @ pending selection phase...few months back I have reported this issue .. Support team replied "Clients actually have a limited time for their decision, but if they need more time they contact us and we grant more time"

Not a single designer in this community is participating in the contests just to waste their time...but designcrowd and contest holders are not paying attention to this issue...I don't know WHY????

Hahaha lol , Frustrated Estiyak ??? From your comment I can know how illiterate you are in designing field.
First understand what client needs , don't simply frustrate and abuse client's in designcrowd ....

He has given a link of what is intermine from the past 20 years in brief , research and understand what is his company ,what he needs , why he needs squarespace , And if he has chosen squarespace flatiron template , for that template how you have to design . First understand what client needs then ask your stupid questions to the client later...
And also learn designing from client needs not from your illiterate mind....
And don't even talk about design quality.... The design which I have submitted for 2nd prize will show you the quality , will send you the link of live website once it is live.... The design for the first was submitted is just an idea phase... Now the design phase.... Please learn some knowledge and gain experience and then come to designcrowd...

I am sorry man, but Estyiak is right..
and you shouldnt talk about quality, because your design win only because you were first, not because of quality. I dont understand how can somebody pay 3000$ like this.. its not fair for other designers, if you create something sooner than the others and win it..
but the bigger problem is feedback.. there is absolutely no feedback from project owner, as I can see not only in my case. I made allmost whole design, homepage, subpage and some light corporate identity, and got no feedback of how to change something..

btw, I've installed the app (osx 10.8.) and it wanted to access my computer, so I didnt run it. I'll just wait for the decision.. :-/

I entered the contest on 9th Day of contest running , I designed that day and got the result that day only. When the contest was in closed phase I saw your design , every one's design and you had participated in the contest so early than me. Even no 1 web designer of designcrowd pb was also already partcipated . How can you say I entered the contest so early , I entered after the client's invite on 8th day, I don't just design without invites from client's on designcrowd.. And about quality please you just don't talk , I had already mentioned in the previous comment as that was just an idea phase to show client,
And about your design and design quality if yours is fantastic , superb etc then why did he choose my design....
Designcrowd works on what client wants not what you want...
Anyway Even i am waiting for the result... :)

I need to apologies for the way this project has been handled. There has some been some developments in my company over the last few weeks that have taken all my time and have meant this has been relegated somewhat. Lame I know, but just the way it has gone down.

I don't plan to extend this again as we have a conference at the end of next week I would like to consider using some of the new imagery.

The demo.intermine.biz server is running as far as I know and it does run on a mac with Java installed.

well I have the lates osx, 10.8.2. and it wont let me run the app.. :-/ (latest java is installed too)
