Logo Design Brief
My new craft beer bar, called "Alementary", needs a logo. Alementary focuses on the best services of the finest regional craft beers in a comfortable, relaxed setting. The name evokes Victorian images and apothecary labels, so we've decided to work in a light steampunk motif. Definitely a throwback, but with a modern, technological edge. We would like to see designs that include an icon (maybe involving the 'A'). Colors are undecided, but stay away from the "classic" brewpub colors of maroon, dark green, etc. Also, stay away from the normal images of beer mugs, foam, etc. This is a modern craft beer bar with a classic aesthetic, and the logo needs to communicate that.
In all cases, the logo must look great in black & white so it can be etched on glasses.

Reason: Hi guys: we are *ALMOST* there with some of these designs, but we'll be providing direct feedback and refining. As this is a partnership, it takes some coordination that is taking us more time than we expected.

Target market is people 21-50. Men are historically the biggest portion of craft beer drinkers, but the female and millennial demographics are the fastest growing. These are people who are adventurous, who seek out local products and new experiences.

- ThIt would be nice if the pictorial portion involved the "A" from Alementary. We are partial to script fonts, but it must be readable.
Should not have
- Should not have anything that has obviously been used a million times in the craft beer market: no burgundy, dark green, bad hop or grain images, overflowing foamy mugs, sexist imagery, etc. Alementary focuses on flawless execution to a diverse clientele, and we're looking to mature the market a bit.
