Logo Design Brief
We need a logo for a supermarket located in a small town near the largest National Seashore in the US- the Palace Market. We supply groceries for the local community and for the visitors to Point Reyes National Seashore. We provide fresh and local produce, seafood, meat, cheese, wines, and more.
Look should be simple and not corporate feeling at all.
Would like a simple logo that looks good in color, but also in black and white for advertising purposes. I don't want primary colors, but rather warmer feeling colors... Words for logo: Palace Market
May also include:
Point Reyes Station
The Place to Shop in West Marin
Established 1898
NOTE: if you want to go with the "palace" theme, then I don't think a drawing of a palace itself works well. I don't mind the idea of a crown though!
Website for store: www.palacemarket.com

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: I have been traveling, and have had a hard time keeping up with the designs that have come in.
Sorry I haven't given more feedback. Tomorrow I will give some more detailed feedback- I'm learning as this goes along!
Thank you for your designs!!

Dear Designers,
Thank you all for your creative energies and time spent towards designing a logo for the Palace Market.
Since this has been underway, I have been able to clarify what sorts of designs "feel" right for the Palace Market. Here is what I have concluded:
1) I would like to have an image that conveys something about the area. Since the area is known for the dairy cows that meander through the hills, and the cheese and other products made from their milk, we have decided that including a drawing of a cow would be nice to include in the logo. It could be a cow all by itself, or on a hill or ?
2) "old fashioned" fonts are preferred- not too stylized or fancy though
3) Text in order of importance: Palace Market, The Place to Shop in West Marin,
Est 1898 - or - Established 1898, Point Reyes Station
4) It's important that this have a warm, friendly feel to it. Nothing too cute or corporate please. Also, no palace images, and at this point, no crowns.
5) I want a logo that I can use "all in one" or perhaps if used in small ads, just use the text and no images- or perhaps only some but not all of the text.
6) I just uploaded an image of a logo for a local farmstead cheese company. I really like the feeling it has. Not saying ours has to be just like this, but wanted you to see the look that I like. I may try and upload other images. It will be for the feel that they inspire, not for anything exact about them.
Thanks so much for your creative energies. I totally understand if you are not up for further exploration, but if you are, hope these new guidelines will help!
