T-shirt Design Brief
Here is your chance to support human rights and get your designs out in to the world!
Amnesty International is the world’s largest independent human rights organisation. We exist to end human rights abuses and create a just world.
We are completely independent of governments and corporations in our campaigning work.
As part of our public awareness and fundraising activity in Australia we produce a range of merchandise including T-shirts and other clothing, books, gifts and cards.
We have used DesignCrowd for the past three years and received some amazing response from great designers around the world. I would like to thank DesignCrowd and everyone who has submitted a design. The designs we have already used have helped us raise more than $20,000 for our organisation.
We are again asking for your help to produce a design for clothing that is contemporary, creative and "cool".
We are looking for:
Designs that people will want to wear every day, not just to a protest march.
Something visual rather than text-based (although catchy messages will also be considered).
I will be eliminating designs that have birds or hands in them unless it is a really good design. Sorry, but we get a lot of designs with doves flying away or hands doing random things.
Designs that will appeal to different age groups.
Designs that take a risk and make a statement.
Winning designs may be used globally, taking your designs to the world!
I have provided links to our website, shop and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which may be useful for inspiration. I have also attached some images of the winning designs from the last three years.
I will be viewing entries regularly and will provide as much feedback as I can.

The design will be screen printed on the clothing and this may effect your colour choice etc.

I would like to thank all of you for posting a design for this competition!!
There were some great designs and it was very hard to only choose two. We have been running our t-shirt competition once a year since 2011 and will be back next year, so if you have any ideas, put them aside and have them ready so that you can blow my mind in 2015.
