Web Design Brief
**Update 2** Homepage screen shot is now uploaded.
**Update** Final designs should be submitted as layered Photoshop Files with source elements. Also, the logo is now attached.
About us: We are a new company that showcases beautiful products available from neighborhood merchants. Our front page allows users to browse through the available inventory. Once they click on an item they will see a product detail page. That's where we need your design talents!
The product detail page should include room for:
• A large preview photo, and smaller thumbnails of the product
• The title of the product
• A description of the product (can be several lines long)
• A price
• Name of the store that is selling the product
• Store’s description (several lines)
• Store’s contact details (address, phone number, email, website, and hours of operation)
• Comments – left by other users
• Comments - the ability to add a comment
• Like – the user must have the ability to “like” the product, essentially saving it to favorites. This is a toggle so they should be able to “unlike” the product as well.
• Save to favorites – users can create lists of products
• Following – our site lets users follow stores to see more of their inventory. The user should have a button (or something) that allows them to follow the store from the item detail page. It is not a main focus of the page so it must be visible/intuitive without being distracting. A toggle switch.
• Social Media Sharing – easy way to share a product on Twitter/Facebook/Pinterest
The way our website works this page will be visible both as a modal pop-up, and as a true page so think about how the design might need to be modified between those two displays. Similarly, it’s probably worth constraining the width so it does not take the entire screen.
Regarding colors our logo is a blue Octopus and most of the site is done in white, grey, light blue, and dark blue but feel free to let your design talent dictate your colors around that theme, and introduce highlights if you wish.
