Logo Design Brief

Need a logo. "The Ocean Aid Project Honolulu, Hawaii" Contemporary in look. The project has to do with the ocean (see below). I like varying shades of Blue and White and Maybe Aqua. I liked the Joshwood, Splash, Original, Vigor Solar, and Blue Cheetah designs I saw on Design Crowd.

We are a non-profit group, planning a concert and international conference on Marine Debris. Especially the debris coming from the Tsunami in Japan. You can see more online searching Japanese Tsunami Debris. And while this is in Hawaii and the Pacific, it effects every country in the world.

The Ocean Aid Project proposes a dynamic fund-raising effort to finance an urgent program to clean up marine debris. Funding will be accomplished through corporate sponsorship, E-Commerce and corporate and individual donations pledged during a benefit concert at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. The Oceans Aid Project is managed by the non-profit Living Seas Foundation, through which our goals can be achieved along with the support, goodwill, generosity and cooperation of like-minded people. We can and will, have a direct, immediate and positive impact on this possibly irreversible situation. The event will fund cleanup efforts both near-shore and on the high seas in and around Hawai‘i and serve as the prototype and genesis for similar projects around the world. It’s intended not only to raise funds for direct cleanup efforts, but to put a bright spotlight on the problem and the solutions which have not yet been addressed by the world’s media . Many environmental activist A-List performers who have supported environmental issues and initiatives in the past will all be invited to perform. In addition to these artists’ participation, holograms of the departed Michael Jackson, Freddy Mercury, Bob Marley, Elvis and others will be created by an award-winning production team who have done extensive production work for Disney,

DreamWorks, Touchstone and Universal Studios. They have created holograms of artists such as Celine Dion, Madonna, Mick Jagger, Black Eyed Peas, Tupac and Janet Jackson to interact and sing alongside live performers, live on stage. Those performers unable to attend Ocean Aid in person will be able to be “beamed in” from around the world via telepresence and appear on stage as a 3-D hologram. This enables the presentation of diverse genres of music and allows the artists to perform with one another in situations rarely possible before this event. They will all lend their celebrity and talent to a cause that touches us all in a profound way and which will have a direct and immediate impact.
Kenny Ortega , the award winning director/producer/choreographer for events such as the opening ceremony of the XIX Winter Olympics, Michael Jackson’s “This is It,” and “High School Musical” will direct the show featuring the latest technological advances in holograms, telepresence and projection mapping to compliment the live entertainers. This has never been done on such a grand scale before and makes this a must-see event.
The promoters of the event, who have produced some of the biggest concert events in Hawai‘i and the United States, have joined forces to make this project possible and to broadcast the event worldwide live on Network TV, cable and the Internet.
The Living Seas Foundation and Ocean Aid Project are committed to begin the work of collecting and disposing of the marine debris by raising money for the task. The funds will be used for buying & leasing vessels, obtaining the necessary equipment for recovery and processing debris, for crews, insurance, and supplies, as well as food and fuel for the operation. The entire effort will focus on getting boats at-sea and getting the job done. The team being assembled has many years of at-sea experience and consists of retired admirals, fishermen, oceanographers, sailors and engineers among other watermen and women.
The programs will be implemented in phases. Phase I will give us the boats and crews in order to launch an ongoing cleanup effort in the heart of the largest debris field near the Hawaiian Islands. Phase II will expand these operations to the high seas north of Hawai‘i and focus on the large gyre of debris area in the North Pacific known as the Garbage Patch. Phase III will further expand our outreach to find local solutions and implement them as appropriate for mitigating marine debris in other countries around the world. Each area is unique with no two problems or no two solutions the same.
The research for this debris recovery project is now complete, and it’s time to make a concerted effort to collect the debris by incorporating the best fishing and disposal methods available along with the best boat design for the task. A highly efficient and effective way to collect debris while at sea has been developed and sea trials have proven that more than 100,000 lbs of debris an hour can be recovered with each recovery vessel.
