Do you want the name of the practice incorporated in the logo?

It is possible to make a dental practice look friendly and approachable but I''m not sure that looking young and hip is the best way. The customer is putting a lot of trust into the practice and may feel uncomfortable placing it with some hip dude. Please expand on the brief.

Yes please incorporate the name into the logo, thanks.

You have a point there. How does one make a dental logo stand out from the crowd, I think perhaps friendly, approachable and contemporary, perhaps wording which have some life to it, if not young and hip. thankyou

yes please. thanks!

The point of the  brief is to identify the problem and stimulate a creative problem solving process. Originally you wanted to take the fear out of going to the dentist now you have changed your mind and are asking a completely different question ie How does one make a dental logo stand out from the crowd.
Starting with the question "how does...." is good now you need a single minded proposition.

Ok thanks for your comment. You see my vision for the dental practice is to create somewhere where customers feel happy to go, a young and vibrant attitude where they get their work dental done with the minimum fuss at reasonable prices and great service. Since there are many conservative practices already in my area, i thought that having a vibrant approach would provide a point of difference.

For example the "virgin" logo to me has a vibrant young look to it which I like, and yet is perceived to be a trustworthy company

This is much more helpful, well done (although posting it twice won''t really give it more value... only joking)
Best of luck with your branding
