Is there a specific theme to this prom? Is it night/formal? I''m really interested in doing this, but I''d love some details to go on.

No specific theme although most prom nights take place in the evening.  It can be anything that relates to a high school prom.  Designs, graphics, colors, fonts, illustrations... anything may win this.  Just remember you are appealing to 17-18 year old students.

Is there anything specific that needs to be written on the card?

Shelley, the requirements are that "Prom Night 2011" appear somewhere on the card.  Otherwise you are free to add anything else to it that would help convey a high school prom night.
