Icon Design Brief

In the project "VISUAL" (http://www.visualproject.org/) we are developing visual symbols to model and illustrate touchpoints between a user/customer and a service provider. When a customer interacts with a service provider we model it as a "customer journey" consisting of a sequence of touchpoint, where each touchpoint represent some sort of contact between the customer and the service provider. It can be an e-mail, a telephone conversation, a face2face situation etc.

We want simple and easy-to-understand symbols in black and white that we can fit into circles and square to mimic a touchpoint, a process step etc. Key words for us are "simple but intuitive", not necessarily too busy design.

A typical size of a touchpoint in printed form is about 1 cm in diameter, but it could also be that we want to enlarge the symbols or make them smaller.


We need some of the current touchpoint symbols we have used to be redesigned, and we also need some new touchpoint symbols. In addition, we would like some health care related symbols and different types of personas symbols.

The symbols we need are the following:
