Hi, just three questions ...

What does "Kuru" mean?
Whats is the movie about?
Do you have highres screenshots - i am afraid the small ones are pretty bad for a high quality design ...

Kuru is an incurable degenerative neurological disorder. However, the way it is written in Kanji, it also suggestions that it is some form of attractive, but poisonous plant / flower. Attracting a person to it with fatal consequences.

The movie is in the mystery / drama / suspense genre.

Will upload higher resolution images shortly.

Thank you.

Could you possibly make the contest guaranteed?

Please feedback! And one question: can we have an example of text for the movie (actors, producer, etc etc)? Thanks

At this stage I am going to the let the process run its course as it is.

We are ideally looking for someone who can deliver a look. Reid Miles, Saul Bass, .. some of Shohei Iida's image poster work .... key artist Jeremy Saunders. Criterion's website is full or smart, well thought out and well designed posters.

We are open to very simple design structures (These are Japanese films) was well as more traditional movie style poster collages. Perhaps it is best to think of it as if one was handed 4 individual films on DVD and was asked to design key art for each ... the client wants each of them be individual in their own right but at the same time to be visually similar in some way as to be identified as a Company xxxx (Blue Note / Criterion) release.

I know it is quite hard, based on these kind of briefs and the money listed, but ideally we are looking to find a designer who we can work with longer term. We already have one more film re-issue / design in the process and one film entering production. One need not spend a lot of time doing design or finished art, at this stage we are looking for "ideas", a "look", some "thought process".

We will pay for the right person.
