Logo Design Brief
We need a logo design for a new company based on Los Angeles called Mark Newton Woodcraft (http://www.newtonwoodcraft.com). Mark Newton Custom Woodcraft is a furniture and home goods design company committed to building fine furniture from sustainable products. We merge that tradition of English quality craftsmanship with mid-century modern design that showcases the unique features of each piece of wood. Subtle traits from nature's design are skillfully demonstrated, allowing each individual piece to tell its own story. We work with hardwoods, hand-rubbed with our own blend or organic, natural waxes, oils and lacquers. From kitchen chopping boards and wine racks to opulent, live-edge walnut boardroom tables, nothing is mass-produced. Each item is handmade by designer Mark Newton in his studio in Los Angeles, California.
We would like the logo to be simple, but convey high-end, sophisticated design. We would like to see two treatments:
1) something that incorporates initials only (please visit: http://www.newtonwoodcraft.com to see current logo)
2) full company name with initials (e.g. http://www.ballarddesigns.com)
We like our current logo, but feel it's time to upgrade to a more professional look and feel. Our current logo incorporates "MN" for "Mark Newton," our founder and principal designer. While we're anticipating that it will remain the single "MN" as the initials, we are interested in seeing a treatment that includes "MN2" (or squared) as Mark's wife and partner's initials are also "MN." The logo also needs to be relatively small or flexible so that we can use it in entirety (e.g. on letterhead) but also have a symbol of some sort to be used on a branding iron.
