Logo Design Brief

'Guido Brandt Photography' is an Australian photography company in Melbourne supplying superior photographic services and products coupled with excellent customer service in the areas of event and sports photography, fine art landscape and architectural photography. Yachting photography is a focus, but not limited to.

The purpose of the logo project is to support the company image. The logo will be used for a variety of purposes:
• Watermark feature on images presented on webpage, both as branding but also protection feature, driving customers e.g. from Facebook to the company's website
• Use on business cards, company communication such letter heads, quotes, invoices as e-mail signature

My target audience is the general public, sporting and sailing community, sport magazines, etc.

As mentioned above the logo will be used in a variety of ways, so it should translate to the various formats of watermarks, business cards, website banner, etc. In particular I want to use the logo for:
1. protecting high quality, high value limited-edition fine art images (logo should be small or subtle so not too distract from the image itself)
2. protecting a larger volume (typically 20-200 images) of high quality images from an event, where potential customers can purchase an image or print for a small fee via the companies website
3. driving customers from social media sites (FB, twitter, instragram, blogs) to the companies website (www.gbphoto.net) - this could be either through quoting the web address of the companies website or any other form

In the past I have been using a signature type logo with web address in different opacities/sizes to serve this purpose - please refer to the website www.gbphoto.net for a reference as how the current logo has been used, in particular:

1) What type of logo do you prefer (Typographic, Graphic symbol + typographic, emblem)
No preference really, but I would like to keep the logo simple and compact, e.g. I have been thinking of dropping the 'Photography' word from my current logo.
2) Do you wish to keep the “brushed signature” style for the text?
I don't have a preference for the brushed signature - I originally chosen it as it stands for something that I have created as an artist - a stamp of approval. However I am very open to your ideas.
3) Do you have an existing brand color?
The logo needs to work with all kind of images, color or b/w images.

Logo should be sleek, simple, elegant, not clichéd, tacky or literal professional.
