Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for our student organization; we're a student veteran organization at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. Our organization includes veterans irrespective of nationality. I need a design that is unique, simple, easy to remember, can be printed on a shirt or a mug, that captures what we are "to assist our transitioning veterans into Ross from application to graduation" and beyond with increasing our reach to alumni. We need this logo to be classy and trendy at the same time.
