Logo Design Brief

I'm looking for a new logo for my construction company. We specialize in residential remodeling. I previously got a logo from Design Crowd, but was never too thrilled with the design. See the second attachment for logo that was done at that time. The people with the plans and the house make it look very gimicky, and not strong at all.

The first attachment is a logo that I did myself. I like this one a lot better. It's text only and looks a lot cleaner and modern. But it's still lacking a professionally designed feel. It could work though, but needs some professional tweaking.

I am looking for something very professional, clean and modern. It can be all text, or can incorporate subtle graphics (i.e. outline of a house or something construction related). It could also be cool to have a logo symbol that combines the initials PS, and also have the rest of the text (PS Built Construction, Inc.). I'm open to all caps, all lowercase, or some combination. I tend to like orange and grey color combo, but again I'm open.

This logo needs to be good, and it needs to last the test of time.
