Faham — logo & brand identity for an exam-prep app (violet, modern, education)
- Guaranteed
- Bundled Project 1
Logo Design Brief
We need a logo and brand identity for "Faham" (full name: Faham Exam Prep), a mobile and web app that helps students prepare for national exams. "Faham" is a Somali/Arabic word meaning "to understand" — please keep this exact spelling.
WHAT WE DO
Faham helps Standard 8 and Form 4 students prepare for national examinations. We digitize verified past exam papers, add worked solutions, organize questions by subject and topic, and track each student's readiness to pass. Our users are students aged 13–18, plus their parents, schools and diaspora sponsors who fund education back home. The brand should feel trustworthy and academically credible, but modern, friendly and encouraging — motivating, not intimidating.
WHAT WE NEED
- Primary logo (wordmark "Faham", or a wordmark + symbol combination)
- A standalone brand mark / icon that works on its own for the app icon and small sizes
- Horizontal and stacked lockups
- Full-colour, single-colour (mono), and reversed/white versions for dark backgrounds
Please deliver editable source files (AI/EPS/SVG or Figma) plus PNG exports.
BRAND DIRECTION (please follow — this is fixed)
- Primary colour: Violet #7C3AED (calm, confident, modern; works on light and dark screens). On dark backgrounds step up to Violet 500 #8B5CF6 or 400 #A78BFA for contrast.
- Neutrals: cool slate greys (#0F172A text, #475569 muted, #E2E8F0 borders).
- Accent (sparingly): Amber #F59E0B.
- Typography: Poppins for the wordmark/headings (geometric, friendly, confident); Inter for supporting text. Both are free via Google Fonts.
- Style: modern, clean, flat/minimal, education-focused, optimistic. Must scale down cleanly to an app icon and favicon.
CONCEPT NOTE
"Faham" means "understanding" — the strongest ideas will hint at clarity, comprehension or the moment of "getting it," rather than just testing. Think of a confident study partner that helps students genuinely understand and pass.
WHAT TO AVOID
- Do not change the core violet colour or the Poppins/Inter type direction.
- No generic graduation-cap / open-book / pencil clichés unless done in a genuinely fresh, minimal way.
- Nothing childish or cartoonish — our students are teens, not young children.
- No busy gradients, heavy shadows, or stock-looking corporate templates.
- Avoid religious, political or region-specific symbols — the brand serves multiple regions and should feel neutral and inclusive.

Requirements
Must have
- - Wordmark "Faham" set in a Poppins-style geometric font (keep this exact spelling) - Primary colour Violet #7C3AED - A standalone brand mark/icon that works on its own for the app icon and small sizes - Full-colour, single-colour (mono) and reversed/white versions for dark backgrounds - Clean, modern, flat/minimal look that stays legible when scaled down small - Editable source files (AI/EPS/SVG or Figma) plus PNG exports
Nice to have
- "Faham" means "to understand" in Somali/Arabic — I'd love ideas that hint at clarity, comprehension or the "aha / getting it" moment rather than just testing. Open to a subtle, clever symbol built into the wordmark. Overall feel: a confident, encouraging study partner. Amber #F59E0B can be used sparingly as an accent.
Should not have
- - No change to the violet colour or the modern geometric type direction - No generic graduation-cap, open-book or pencil clichés (unless done in a genuinely fresh, minimal way) - Nothing childish or cartoonish — our users are teens, not young kids - No busy gradients, heavy drop shadows, or stock-looking corporate templates - No religious, political or region-specific symbols — the brand must feel neutral and inclusive across regions
