TATTOO DESIGN BRIEF — "The Solar Lion" (REV. 2 — shoulder-cap placement)
Objective: Fill the open skin on the top/front of the shoulder cap (the circled area — over the head of the deltoid, between the clavicle/neck and the top edge of the existing tattoo) with a lion's head, and tie it into the top circle of the existing piece (the Heptameron planetary seal) so the two read as one continuous work.
Placement: The lion occupies the bare shoulder-cap patch circled in red — front/top of the deltoid. It does not sit directly stacked above the seal; it sits up and inboard of it. The existing seal stays exactly where it is, lower and more to the outside of the arm.
Orientation: The lion's head faces up-and-out over the shoulder — angled so it reads correctly both from the front (chest-on) and from the side (profile). The crown of the head points toward the neck/clavicle; the muzzle and lower mane point down-and-out toward the seal.
Connection — the tie-in (this is the key change): The mane is asymmetric, not a full even sunburst. It's fuller toward the top/neck side, and on the lower-outer side it streams downward as a directional flow of locks that bridge across the gap and merge into the top arc of the existing angelic ring. The seal is still the sun — but now the mane flows diagonally into it rather than concentrically around it. The bridge of mane strands must fully close the bare skin between the lion and the seal so there's no empty gap; the eye travels lion → mane → seal as one unbroken line of ink.
Style: Unchanged. Match the existing work exactly — fine-line, monochrome black, engraving/woodcut linework, grimoire/alchemical register. Line-shading and hatching for the mane and muzzle; no solid-black mass, no photo-realism. Same stroke weight and hatching density as the seal already on the arm.
Expression — "vicious but governed": Unchanged. Jaws open, fangs showing, full predator menace in the mouth — but steady, controlled eyes. The Strength lion: lethal force mastered, not a raging beast.
Symbolic anchors: Leo / fixed fire / solar (the lion as the zodiacal body of the Sun already at the seal's center); Gevurah (disciplined fire of strength); Ariel / Lion of Judah (the kerubic fire-face of the Merkavah). Optional discreet Hebrew אריה (Aryeh, "lion") worked into the linework at the throat — only if it holds at the same fine scale.
Integration checklist for the artist:

Lion fills the circled shoulder-cap patch; seal stays put, lower and lateral.
Head faces up-and-out so it reads front and side.
Mane asymmetric — fuller toward neck, streaming down-and-out into the top of the existing seal.
Bridge strands fully close the bare skin between lion and seal — no gap.
Same line weight, hatching density, and engraving feel as the existing piece.
Negative space (skin) preserved between mane strands — do not fill solid.
