Graphic Design Brief

We need a logo design for a new company based in Oregon called Trajectory Publishing LLC. Its mission is to produce books and accompanying websites that will help us better understand and take more control over our lives. Just FYI, the tagline is "Understanding our Past, Facing the Present, Changing our Future". The concept is that we can change our trajectory (ideally upwards!). While the logo should somehow include the name of the company for most purposes (website, letterhead, etc.), ideally there would be an aspect of the logo that would be a symbol (or perhaps the first name of the company or perhaps the initials of the company, with a symbol) that could be used for the spine of physical books that we will publish (since the spine is very narrow). We are open to any colors, but the products will be based on principles that last, so something more solid (like a deeper green or blue, etc.) would probably work better than something flashy.
