Tattoo Design Brief
We want a matching commemorative tattoo for me and my son to mark our trip to Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in July 2023. The backbone of the design is the original “Halcyon” ship symbol from the Starcruiser’s iconography. The original symbol is very minimal: two vertical bars running through a broken circle shape, with a small dot near the upper right. On its own it’s already a strong graphic mark, but we want to personalize it with subtle Star Wars / Mandalorian touches while still keeping it clean and tattoo-friendly.
Placement/scale: designed to read well as a 6–8 inch tattoo on an adult male thigh or shoulder. It should be primarily black ink linework/shading (with small solid fills only if you think they help the piece hold up over time).
Core layout requirements:
* Preserve the overall silhouette and proportions of the Halcyon symbol so it’s instantly recognizable.
* Both vertical elements should terminate at the bottom with the same angled cut seen in the original icon (this is important—some mockups accidentally made one of the lines end straight).
* We want the thicker vertical line replaced with a Darksaber motif. Keep it stylized and graphic—think “icon,” not a fully rendered prop. The blade can be represented with crisp edges and a simplified hilt detail, but it should still read as the Darksaber at a glance.
Optional personalization elements (if they fit cleanly without clutter):
* Add Aurebesh lettering running vertically along the left and right sides: one side reads “HALCYON” in Aurebesh, the other reads “JULY 2023” in Aurebesh. The lettering should be legible, evenly spaced, and sized so it won’t blur together over time.
* Another optional variation: convert the right half of the circle into a Death Star-inspired semicircle—suggest the panel lines / dish detail in a simplified way that still feels tattooable (avoid tiny micro-panels that will age badly). If we go this route, we still want the Aurebesh text on the sides.
Style direction: clean, modern, “symbolic” linework—like high-end sci-fi iconography rather than illustrative realism. We used AI mockups only to communicate the concept; we specifically want your original tattoo design choices and your judgment on line weight, spacing, and what will heal best.
If it helps, page 3 of the PDF includes what I would call "concept art" and a few Mandalorian-shaped icon silhouettes that can be used as inspiration only if they can be integrated without compromising the Halcyon symbol’s simplicity.
