hi is it possible to know what the logo is for (ie product, business, a non-profit org. or a campaign slogan)? It would help the design process to know a little bit of context to what the design goal is and the key message it should represent. You mentioned perhaps adding a phone or making DND look like a phone, it would help to understand why you envision this direction in terms of imagery and how it connects to the brand name.
