Logo Design Brief

Looking for a logo (graphic only) to accompany our design contest name ("The WERC Environmental Design Contest").
Audience: College engineering students, mostly Seniors. The graphic should also appeal to engineering professors.

The graphic should:
1. Be eye-catching and give a sense of action or motion.
2. Accommodate screen printing (for t-shirts) and embroidery (for jackets).
3. Not be cartoonish.
4. Include a globe (Earth), either highly stylized or more representational. This globe could be comprised of dots, water droplets, longitude/latitude lines, swirls, rough approximations of continents, etc.
5. Capture the environmental feel of the contest (WERC stands for: Water, Energy, Resources Consortium). Consider design elements: leaves (or leaf), water (droplets or waves), energy (this one is tough to depict, so it could be omitted).
6. Color scheme: The color scheme is open, but because of the elements (water, leaves, etc.), we tend toward blue, green, white.
7. Accommodate color changes. Ideally, the design would be flexible enough that we could change some (or all) of the colors each year (possibly using new color gradients across the globe, etc.), to accommodate new t-shirt fabrics each year.
8. The contest is for engineers, but there should be no images of gears.

Must have

• A globe. A sense of motion. Environmental images (water, leaves, etc.)

Nice to have

• If possible, work in the letters of "WERC" into the design. Can weave designs such as leaves, waves, water, sun, etc., into the lettering? I attached an image of my favorite logo (Artemis program from NASA)

Should not have

• Gears.
