Logo Design Brief

I am the student activities director at a high school in San Jose called James Lick High School. We have been around since 1950, but our branding is falling short. We only have one official digital logo which is a simple "C," and our mascot is pretty unique -- it's a comet.

If possible, we would love to have some mascot branding done for our school. I have attached our original C logo, as well as a few pictures of our mascot, and a digital rendering of our mascot that could be improved. It would be nice to have a logo to use on our digital social media, as well as maybe a simplified one that would could use for printing on merchandise. The more options, the better.
